Himalayan Wool Rug Cleaning

Himalayan Wool Rug Cleaning

Steve Alderman recently completed a fascinating and intricate task: cleaning a red wine stain from a high-end Himalayan wool rug.

Given the rug’s significant value and delicate material, Steve approached the cleaning process with a specialised technique. He began by applying Chemspec cotton cleaning powder as a
pre-spray, allowing it to dwell to break down the stain. Following this, he extracted the stain with an acid rinse to ensure thorough cleaning.

The final step involved using a UV light, a technique Steve had learned during a Paul Pearce
training course. To achieve the optimal height for the UV light, Steve cleverly utilised a stack of books provided by the customer, who, as it turned out, was an author. The books he used were
her own publications.

The cleaning was a complete success, with the rug restored to its original condition. The
customer was thrilled with the result.

Well done, Steve!
